Semiratruth #theauxputmeon
Emerging from the creative hub of Chicago is up-and-coming poet, space explorer, and abstract creative: Semiratruth.
A breath of fresh air for jazz rap and abstract hip hop, Semiratruth is a wordsmith with a flow and cadence that marks a strong presence on every song they release.
Semiratruth’s music and poetry is deeply meditative, consistently focusing on the concept of soul searching and self-healing. Typically accompanied by ethereal, abstract, hip hop production, their flow is ice cold, with every syllable receiving proper punctuation.
Their wordplay is stupendous. Their verbal imagery is vivid. Semiratruth is so exciting to listen to because the diversity of their sound is matched with their investment in their subject matter—not shying away from sometimes scary realities but being intent on seeing a better tomorrow. These things are consistent across their multiple albums and EPs while still certainly keeping each project fresh and unique.
Each project has a vivid concept while showcasing a different creative strength. Their album Mira comes off as a stark introduction to the rapper and their personal life while I Got Bandz For The Moonlandin’ is presented as an astronomical concept album with a theatrical presentation.
Semiratruth is actually a collaborator of or previous APMO artist, Jwords! They’re currently working on a collaborative project that you should stay tuned for!
